Primary School Project

Kenema (Sierra Leone), Africa

Completed April 15, 2022

Sphere on Spiral Stairs

We had a minister in Sierra Leone conducting on-the-ground interviews with schools in remote areas to assess their most urgent needs. A particular school in Kenema, Sierra Leone, faced several critical challenges. They had no desks, seats, tables or benches for the children. Additionally, the roof was in such disrepair that the rain leaked into their school unencumbered. They needed wood and hardware to build furniture, replace toilets and sinks, repair the roof, install new flooring, and contract labor.

Per the church associated with the primary school, the estimated costs to address these priorities were provided to us. For transparency reasons, we have included those costs (left) and the corresponding U.S. dollar conversion. The scope of our objectives is clearly evident.

In the larger image is an exact breakdown of what was needed to complete this project in local currency. The currency convertor shows project costs of $2,409.88 in US dollars. The goal was to have these funds by mid-April of 2022.  Because of the generous contributions received, that goal was accomplished.

Sierra Leone Water Project

Another projected we invested in was a water distribution system that extends piping from Sierra Leone to one of its outlying towns, providing access for both agricultural irrigation and potable drinking water.
